Sorta Bummed!

I need a red 402 bowl to complete my primary bowl set. I have been watching Ebay and they are harder to find and when they are listed, they have been going for $20 and up plus shipping, which for me is usually around $10 and up. I found a red bowl on Ebay and it was a buy it now auction for $10 with $7.37, so of course I bought it. Well, it arrived yesterday and I am a bit bummed with it. It is a red 402 bowl....

But it isn't the right red. Its a red orange, which I am pretty sure belongs to the Friendship patterned bowl set.

Here is a comparison of the two colors. The fridgie is the primary red. On the bright side, the two patterned friendship bowls are on my want list and are easier to find than the primary red. So I now have a jump start on that set.

Its Thursday and I haven't posted anything in a several days, that is because I really haven't had much to show you and I have been a tad lazy!
 I did go to my favorite antique store last Sunday while the world watched football. I didn't pick up anything, but I saw some nice stuff at reasonable prices just wasn't sure if I wanted or needed them.

This is one piece. Its a divided casserole dish in great condition. It's $19.99 and the booth is having a 40% off sale, so it would only be $11.95. Not too bad. I have 2 divided casseroles already and just not sure if I really need a third, even tho I really like the pattern. The pattern is called Blue Ivy and it was a promotional dish that came with a cradle. This one doesn't have the cradle.

I decided on Tuesday to go back to the antique store and get a bowl that I had seen on Sunday.

I love this pattern! It's horizon blue. This bowl was $9 a bit high for that size bowl, but I splurged and bought it.
I also bought a couple more things too......

This opal white bowl was $3.50, I figured that was a good price. This is a mystery bowl tho, I did some research to see what set it belongs to. According to http://www.pyrexlove.com, they don't show a Cinderella set in the opal white. So I am wondering if this had a pattern or color and has just been damaged and now is all white. I cruised through Ebay and I found one for sale identical to this one, the auction only lists a description of the bowl and no new info about it. I love a good mystery, so I will keep digging to see if I can find out more!

This Snowflake blue lid was only $4 and I love this pattern too! I need to find the bottom for it now. It is smaller and marked 943. I need to figure out what this lid goes to.

I got it!!! And a couple of extra goodies!

Ok, so I went back to the thrift store to hopefully snag the lid I am missing that I thought I had in my hand yesterday. Well, I found the lids I had and they were one size smaller than the one I need. So I looked at the next row and there was the lid I need, woo hoo! It a small chip in it but for a dollar that's ok. So now my #23 casserole is now complete. I decided to quickly scan the shelves figuring I wouldn't fins anything since we were there yesterday. I happened to look down on the bottom shelf and there was two cinderella bowls sitting there. I snatched those things up so fast. They were marked $7.50 each, not too bad right. Well the store was having a discount that was determined by the lowest temp we hit last night. Thankfully, we still are having really cold nights, the temp dropped to 28 degrees. So I got 28% off. I paid $12.37 for the three items. And when I got home, there was a package waiting with a Black Gooseberry Cinderella bowl I won on Ebay. Not a bad day!

Had a fun time yesterday thrift shopping with my lil sis. We hit 5 shops, and found some good deals. We kept finding alot of clear #22, #23, & #24 casseroles. Casseroles seemed to be the theme of the day, Oh and Spring Blossom/Crazy daisy pattern. At the first store I found these great cups for 99 cents each. They all are marked Pyrex on the bottom.

I like this pattern, my mom had the Corelle plates and bowls in this pattern.

We didn't find anything at the second and third stores. At the fourth store we found several items that came home with us and a couple that didn't (Big regret!!) Here are the goodies I bought:

I know it isn't Pyrex, but I also like recipe books and for 50 cents, how could I resist!

Found this tube pan for $2.00. It is two pieces. For christmas I made a cake in my current tube pan which is one piece and really wished I had a 2 piece pan. So, I snagged this pan since the price was right. I like the handles on it too!

A nice Spice of Life patterned Store and See container, colors on the lid are a bit faded but other than that its perfect and it was only a dollar!

An opal white pie plate. Only $4.00. I think this will get alot of use and not just for pies.

That's all I bought at this thrift store. My sister bought a 4 quart Pyrex baking dish for only $8.50. Kohl's sells these new for around $17.99. I think she got a good deal! Hopefully she will bake up some yummy enchiladas in it and invite our family over for dinner!! As I said earlier, I had a regret, I had three Pyrex casserole lids in my hand and then decided not to buy them. Well once I was home I was looking at my casseroles and I need a #683 lid for my #23 casserole. I think the 3 lids I had in my hand were the lids I need. They were a great price too, two of them were marked 50 cents and the other was a buck or buck and a half. If time permits today I am gonna run back there and see if I can snag one. Crossing my fingers!!

At the last store we found a set of Corelle spring blosson/crazy daisy plates, some clear casseroles (didnt buy them) and then I turned and saw this great casserole on the lower shelf. I think I squealed a bit in delight.

A perfect Town and Country divided dish with a divided lid. It was $5.99! SOLD!
Finding this was the end to a perfect day!

A hunting we will Go!

Today I am going to hang out with my sister and hit some Goodwill/Thrift shops. I hope to find some great Pyrex treasures.Wish us luck!!

They have arrived!

My 2 packages arrived today!! Here's what was in the first package:

Two beautiful bowls with the Horizon Blue pattern. I liked this pattern in pics I have seen online, but they are better looking in person. This pattern is now a definate favorite! These bowl are part of a 3 piece set, which means I am missing the middle bowl which is a solid blue. It would be nice to complete this set, so I will be keeping an eye out for the missing bowl. I also wouldn't mind finding some casseroles in this pattern.

I cant show you all what was in the second package, since it is a birthday present for my sister and I dont want her to see it here. Let me tell you it is really pretty and it will be hard for me to give it away. I know she will love it. I will post pics after I give it to her in a few weeks.

Good news!!

I just checked on the status of my two packages and both have arrived at my local post office. Hopefully they will go out for delivery today!! Keep your fingers crossed!!

Well, the three day weekend is almost over and it will be time to get back to the every day daily grind. I am still tracking my two packages from last weeks Ebay wins and thankfully one is finally showing it left the state from which it was sold from...woo hoo, I hopefully will be getting it soon. I couldn't keep myself away from Ebay this weekend and I won two more bids. So I have two more packages to track. Since, I don't have any new pieces to show you, I will post a pic of our favorite Meatloaf, baked in Pyrex of course!

Its a Bacon Cheeseburger Meatloaf. Very tasty! It's a Paula Deen recipe, so you know its good right!

New arrival....

 I have been watching the tracking on 3 auctions and they all are showing that they are still in the sellers states. So, I was really suprised when the mailman rang the doorbell and left a package on my porch.

This is my second Gooseberry piece. I really like this pattern and hope to add more pieces. This is the bowl I actually bought for my sister's birthday, but there was an auction error (advertised as a 1 1/2 quart instead of a 1 1/2 pint that it is)  and I decided to keep it for myself since she wants a 1 1/2 quart Cinderella bowl.

No New additions yesterday 

I didn't receive any packages yesterday and I fought off the urge to go to the nearby antique store to buy a dish that I hear calling my name. That is if it's still there, I saw it last Sunday and didn't buy it because I chose to buy two other pieces. Here is what I bought:

The Autumn Wheat casserole didn't come with a lid, but I had an extra I had bought for .99 cents at a thrift store. The mug is Pyrex and it is called summer Impressions Honeydew. I like the pattern on the mug and want to get one of each of the other colors.


I thought I would share with you a tasty dessert I made last night. Its a Caramel-Apple Crisp.

New arrival yesterday!


I received the green bowl to my primary mixing bowl set. It's not in Mint condition, which is ok since I will be using this set for everyday use. I just need to find the red bowl at a reasonable price and my set will be complete!

I bought the set over 10 years ago, which came with a Verde green bowl. I had no idea at the time it wasn't a complete set and it had the wrong bowl with it.

More Pyrex!!

Yesterday I received 2 packages with more pieces I have won on Ebay. I think I have gone a bit crazy on Ebay the last two weeks!
First up is a cute little casserole #473 in the Town & Country pattern. It didn't come with a lid, but luckily I bought a couple of lids at Goodwill one day in hopes of getting casseroles to go with them, and for .99 each who could pass them up right.

Next up is my new Fridgies. I love these new pieces! The colors are bright and shiny! I got the whole set for $39.95 on a Buy It Now auction with free shipping. Score!! I have been watching other sets go for a lot higher!

Howdy, Today was a great day! I went to a friend's house and hung out for a bit before we headed out shopping. We were talking about my recent obsession with finding Pyrex and she walked over and opened her cupboard and pulled out two pieces and handed them to me saying you can have these, I don't think pink goes well in my kitchen. They were a gooseberry #502 refrigerator dish and a pink #501 refrigerator dish. I couldn't believe she was giving them to me, I was so excited!! I have been wanting something in gooseberry and something in pink and fridgies. These covered all three things. So here are my first gooseberry & pink  pieces.....

Also, while out shopping, we stopped by Goodwill and I found a really scratched up #22 clear casserole dish, it was $2.99, probably way more than I should have paid for a piece in this condition, but I have a lid for it that I bought for $1.50. So now it is a complete casserole and perfect for everyday use.

Its a small casserole, so now to figure out what to cook in it. Love to hear any suggestions!

** I do have more fridgies coming and a gooseberry bowl, I bought on Ebay. But the pieces I got today are special since they came from my friend and are my firsts.

My package arrived today!! I finally received my baking dish and it is a #507, which means it is a Heinz promotional dish. Woohoo!! I didn't know that at the time I bid on it, I bid because I liked the unusual color and I wanted a baking dish. It is smaller then I thought it would be, but I love it just the same. Now for the odd part, It arrived wrapped in an adult diaper. I was reading some posts a few days ago and had seen people talking about getting stuff packed in adult diapers and how they came from Ohio. Two ladies had this happen and both of those were from two different sellers in Ohio. Then today I open the package and oddly enough my dish is in an adult diaper and to top it off it too came from Ohio. So what is up with this, 3 different sellers in Ohio are using adult diapers to wrap up glass items for shipping. Is this really freaky odd or what???

I am still hoping my baking dish arrives, but I have doubts. The auction isn't showing that it has even shipped yet and I read this am on it that they ship up to 10 business days after the auction close..which means they still have all this week to ship it out. Not liking the customer service from them so far...so I guess I will patiently wait not much else I can do

Well sadly my package didn't arrive yesterday with my baking dish :O(
Hopefully it will arrive tomorrow, fingers crossed. So, no new pieces to show off. I will have some more pieces coming in the new week or so. I won a couple of auctions on Ebay and am so excited about the pieces and prices. I won a complete set of Primary Refrigerator dishes for $39.95 with free shipping, can you believe that!! It was a buy it now auction, gotta love it. Also won an auction for two Horizon blue bowls, for $7.50 with $7.00 shipping, so $14.50 for two bowls. Not too bad. I would rather find them at the thrift stores for a couple of bucks! But, through Ebay I can get the patterns I really want. I had an auction fiasco too, I won an auction for a 1 1/2 Qt gooseberry cinderella bowl. It was to be a gift for my sister's birthday, since she had hinted that's what she wanted. Well after winning, the seller contacted me and let me know she made an error on the listing and the bowl is really a 1 1/2 pint and I could cancel if I wanted. I didn't cancel since I want a piece in gooseberry, so I am going to keep it for myself. But now I still need a present for my sister, back to hunting a bowl for her now.

Isn't she beautiful! My first Delphite bowl. It's in almost mint condition, well taken care of by its original owner.

I still have one more package to arrive, hopefully tomorrow. Its a rectangle baking dish. The auction read" VINTAGE PYREX BAKING DISH, IT IS NOT THE OLIVE GREEN, MORE LIKE MEDIUM GREEN IN COLOR"

I was browsing through websites looking for this color and I think the dish might be the Heinz promotional #507 oblong baking dish...I hope it is, guess we will see when it arrives!

Morning!

I haven't been able to do alot of thrift store shopping lately and it's killing me, thinking I am missing a lot of great deals on Pyrex. I think I really need help.  So, on Wednesday I had to run an errand and since my kids were playing down at a neighbors house, I made a detour to two thrift stores I haven't been to before. I found 3 things at good prices, that should hold me over till the kids go back to school and then I can spend the day thrift store hopping.

Here's my recent finds:

The saucer is a JAJ Pyrex saucer from England. My first JAJ piece. I like the pattern and it was only .74 with tax.
I paid 45 cents for the crazy daisy sugar bowl, no lid tho. The yellow #401 bowl I paid 3.98.

To make up for not thrifting, I have been buying on Ebay. I just won three bids on New Year's Eve. The first piece arrived yesterday and I have already put it to use.

Mmm Fresh baked brownies just out of the oven! The house smells great too!
I hope the other two pieces will arrive today...fingers crossed!
